South Gippsland Highway, Meeniyan

 

Meeniyan, Koonwarra's closest neighbour, has recently gone on line through the initiative and dedication of local resident, Richard Powell.  

 

This new website, www.meeniyan.org.au is still being developed but already has a lot of interesting information that displays the nature of this close knit community (see the "Newsletter" section for example).

 

Meeniyan is known as "The Turning Point".  Roads lead to Wilsons Promontory, through  Dumbalk to the Latrobe Valley and Venus Bay.  It is a great place to stop off and browse the many gift shops, have a BBQ in the main street or a meal at one of the restaurants.

 

Koonwarra is happy to welcome Meeniyan to cyberspace.
