Wilsons Promontory is the southernmost tip of the Australian mainland and only 80 kms from Koonwarra.  It has an area of more than 50,000 hectares of wilderness.  If you enjoy swimming, surfing, long or short walks, birdlife, emus, kangaroos, koalas, wombats, ferny gullies, stunning views, incredible flora or just relaxing in the sun, maybe in some secluded spot, then this is the place to visit.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT LINKS IMPROVED SO CATCH THE BUS TO WILSON'S PROM

A new bus service will provide better a connection to Wilson's Promontory, one of Victoria's most popular holiday destinations.

Public Transport Minister Lynne Kosky said today the new service to start on Friday would provide services to tourists, backpackers and local residents.

"The new bus service will operate between Foster and Tidal River, stopping at Fish Creek and Yanakie, to provide access to some of Wilson's Promontory's most popular accommodation spots," Ms Kosky said.

"Departure times have been scheduled to allow passengers to connect at Fish Creek with V/Line coach services to and from Melbourne," Mr Viney said.

"This new bus service means people can leave the car at home and enjoy a relaxing weekend without the worry of heavy traffic and increasing petrol prices."

The Thursday bus service between Foster and Leongatha would also be continued.
