An Autumn Affair with Italian Food & Wine- Celebrating Life, Decadent Gippsland Food & Artisan Wines

Italy is a weapon of mass seduction,
distinct olive flavours, robust fare, vegetables, grains, olives and more.
Italian fare is alive and very generous.  Abundance of home grown,
handmade things that have sustained our love affair with the country. So many
recipes originate in the home kitchen, where the freshest ingredients are put
together with a minimum of fuss. Often we return to this type of cooking over
and over, its realness, freshness and heartiness will always warm us to our
core.

The May Convivial Dinner starts our
cultural romance with food, what better way to start with Fish Creek Mount of
Olives - Mario Condolin native of Italy, has learnt the art and craft of
growing olives from his fore fathers. Mario and his wife Elia have created
stunning produce from their little piece of Italy in Fish Creek. Making
beautiful olive oil, decadent olives and amazing olive tapenade. Maybe we may
even hear a little bit of Mario's magical harmonica in action.

To continue the affair, we have
stunning cool climate maritime wines from Purple Hen. These wines are very much
in the style of Piedmont's wines of northern Italy, strongly influenced by the
sea winds, minerality and sea air . Operated by Rick Lacey & his wife Maira Vitols and family,
winemaker Pip Farr with a strong family history of making excellent varietal
wines  continues  to craft award-winning wines in the subtle and
appealing cool climate style that the Purple Hen has built a reputation for.
Our signature Estate Pinot Noir and Estate Chardonnay are among the best you
will find. . The quality of the wines across the
board make it clear that this is definitely not a tourist-trap cellar door; it
is a serious producer of quality wine.
