Convivial Tables Convivial Good Times
There is a tangible relief at this time each year as the days lose their heat to Autumn's arrival, the leaves turn brilliant colours of amber and crimson, gather around our tables, see, smell and taste what the season brings........another brilliant Koonwarra Store Convivial Dinner on Saturday March 20th @ 7pm.
Autumn is signalled by so many changes, the one that always serves as the true indicator we have turned the corner into a new season, is the light; that golden, flaxen coloured light that hits the hills late in the afternoon. It's as though golden syrup has been poured over every surface - it's really no wonder to learn photographers refer to it as ‘magic light'.
Food lovers will be equally
enamoured by Autumn's arrival, with an abundance of produce made all the more
special because of their brief appearance; figs, quinces, pears and lovely big
field mushrooms to name a few. This ‘special appearance' produce makes it an
easy decision to return to the kitchen after months of weather too hot to
contemplate the stove.
And we've found languishing over what to cook all the more appealing with a
glass of Phillip Island Chardonnay in hand.
Come join us at our Convivial Dinner on a journey to discover the diversity of food, wine and produce, sharing tables, discovering the best of our region of Gippsland.!
